This autobiographical documentary series, In Conversation with Paul Lovejoy, documents the life and work of Prof. Paul E. Lovejoy is a renowned Canadian historian, Director of Walk With Web, and an academician known for his extensive research in African Diaspora History, slavery, and African economics. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at York University, and also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Pioneer in the field of African Studies. Prof. Paul Lovejoy is a past member of UNESCO's initiative, “Routes of Enslaved Peoples: Resistance, Liberty and Heritage”. He has published over 40 books and numerous research articles. He is the editor of Life Stories and Freedom Narratives of Global Africa, UNESCO General History of Africa, vol. 10, and is the General Editor of the Harriet Tubman Series on the African Diaspora (Africa World Press), which has published over 30 volumes. A special issue of African Economic History was published in his honor in 2021 (Vol. 49. No. 1) and in 2022, he published Regenerated Identities: Documenting African Lives in collaboration with directors of various projects as part of WWW’s Regenerated Identities network. He has received numerous grants from prestigious granting agencies including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

The Journal of Global Slavery and Brill Publishing have honored Lovejoy’s contributions to scholarship by establishing the Paul E. Lovejoy Prize for the Study of Slavery, which is presented each year for best monograph on the subject of global slavery. Through interviews, interesting anecdotes, and insightful narration, WWW is delighted to release a documentary series that uncovers the remarkable journey of Lovejoy from his early years in becoming a pioneering figure in African studies.
