On the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of Walk With Web, we organized a two-day conference, which was held on the York University campus, between the 7th and 8th of July 2022. During the event, our CEO, Kartikay Chadha presented a report on the first 2 years of WWW's business to our collaborators and partners.

The event was organized for the preparation of our partnership grant application on the project titled: IDENTITY in GLOBAL AFRICA. This partnership addresses the historical impact of slavery and its contemporary legacy of racism using cutting-edge digital technologies to explore vast quantities of primary data. We argue that identity narratives have shaped "Global Africa," that is, continental Africa and its diasporas. While slavery has been widely studied, digitized archival documentation makes it possible to ask new questions addressing economic, social, cultural, civil and political human rights issues. A partnership is required to assure technical development to mine data and to promote dissemination of new knowledge through Augmented Reality, video documentaries, website development, social media platforms, and publications. Ongoing research challenges digital humanities (DH) mechanisms for dissemination that require computational methodologies to reconstruct connections with homelands.

This event was hosted by Chair, Board of Directors, Prof Paul Lovejoy of York University.
